Question 4 - How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
YouTube
YouTube was a key piece of technology in our A2 media coursework because we used YouTube to look at other existing horror teaser trailers to give us inspiration when making our own teaser trailer. The reason for looking at other existing horror teaser trailers is so that we could gain an understanding of the standard of quality we needed within our teaser trailer. |
Weebly
We used Weebly to create our A2 media website. Weebly has also been one of the main technologies we used have used this year. Weebly has allowed us to create a website with all our research and planning on, before making our final three products, a horror teaser trailer, film poster and a magazine front cover. |
Prezi
How we used Prezi as one of our technologies for the progress through our construction, planning and evaluation is that for starters we used iTunes mainly for music and export of videos into it. We wanted the highest quality of videos we could do so this meant 1080P. We did this by exporting the edited videos from final cut into iTunes through the 1080P. Then from that we imported into YouTube. This gave us the best results in showing what we meant in our videos in terms of quality and understanding. |
Photoshop
We used photoshop to edit photos for our horror poster and our magazine front cover. This allowed us to get a professional quality to our poster and magazine front cover which made it look really effective as you can see from the images below. When researching magazine covers and movie posters Photoshop helped us to achieve a good quality end product to compete against other horror films on the market. Photoshop allowed us to create different layers of images and text to get our final products. |
Green Screening
Green screening helped us expand our skills when making videos to evaluate our work. When filming our evaluation and audience interviews, green screening was what we used because we thought it would make it more interesting. This allowed us to have our teaser trailer playing in the background whilst our audience were evaluating it. Using the green screen allowed us to make simple but effective videos to show we've used different technologies in our evaluation. |
Final Cut
Final cut was one of the most important technologies we used throughout our A2 media project. We used final cut to put together and edit our horror teaser trailer. It has allowed us to play around and experiment with different effects, such as sound, moving image, special effects and use of text to see which ones work and which ones don't. When making our teaser trailer final cut has been the most important technology we used, because without final cut we wouldn't of been able to make our teaser trailer so accurate and detailed. |
Itunes
How we used iTunes as one of our technologies for the progress through our construction, planning and evaluation is that for starters we used iTunes mainly for music and export of videos into it. We wanted the highest quality of videos we could do so this meant 1080P. We did this by exporting the edited videos from final cut into iTunes through the 1080P. Then from that we imported into YouTube. This gave us the best results in showing what we meant in our videos in terms of quality and understanding. Underneath is pictures of what iTunes looks like: |
