Risk assessment
If we are filming around school areas people around the area must also be informed, as it could cause the general public distress if they think they see someone being killed, when it is in fact just some teenagers filming for their media coursework. The police will most likely be informed and this will cause more problems than what are necessary. We will be filming outside Churchdown School in the dark to get shots of streets lights. We also need to make sure there aren't many cars about so we don't put anyone at risk of getting injured, so we will need to inform the local authorities before we film. We will not be using any weapons, but we may be using fake blood.

If we choose to use an props which may cause harm to us or others around us if not used appropriately, we must be extra careful and take precaution when handling them as we do not want to injure anyone in the making of our Horror teaser trailer. For example, if a sharp object such as a knife is used, the person with it must be coordinated and everyone involved in the scene must be aware of what is going to happen so that injuries are avoided. We especially need to be careful if we are filming at night time incase people think we are just messing around and causing trouble.
When we are filming outside of school we also need to make sure we don't put anyone else at risk of getting injured, by leaving equipment that could injure someone. For example leaving broken glass will be a danger for others who pass that area, so we need to make sure we've cleared the area before we leave. We also need to be careful incase there's no nails sticking out or broken glass on the floor which is already there. This is because one of our group might fall on it and seriously hurts themselves, so we don't want this happening. When using equipment, we must make sure we do our best to not damage it in any way. This may involve checking that the camera is securely attached to the tri-pod, making sure you don't knock or drop anything and being careful when walking or running with the camera when doing a point of view shot. We must also make sure to keep any electrical equipment away from water or fire if we choose to use it in our teaser trailer.
