Shooting Schedule
With our shooting schedule we decided we needed fast pace shots to go into our teaser trailer because having faster paced shots makes it more dramatic for the audience watching. Firstly we decided we didn't want to reveal the killer by having shots of the killers face to give too much away to the audience. We thought that having a silhouette shot of our killer would be the perfect shot for not giving away the killer in our teaser trailer. The best way to get the silhouette of the killer is filming when it's dark, so we can see the silhouette of the killer against the street lights.
Having close up shots of all the victims faces shows how terrified they are, of what could happen to them. These shots make the trailer more gripping for the audience because they get a sense of how the victim is feeling. We also included shots of our victim running away from our killer because it shows the fear in the victim, as they are trying to get away from the villan.
Close up shots of the knife and the killers hands with blood on them gives the audience a clue of who the killer might be without actually revealing the killers face. This makes it gripping for the audience because they will want to know who the killer is by actually watching the film. Our teaser trailer doesn't give too much away about are killer, which is what we wanted to do. This is because we thought it would make our teaser trailer better as it would be a mystery for the audience to find out who the killer is.
We also have a shot looking down on the victim which makes her look weak and vulnerable compared to the killer. In the same shot the victim screams which shows the audience she's scared and powerless. A similar shot is of the other victims tied up with rope which also shows the vulnerably of the victims. We also used a lot of low key lighting within our teaser trailer because it creates suspense for the audience watching and it doesn't make the audience focus on the things in the background of the shot. It makes them focus on what's happening in the front of the shot rather than looking at whats going on in the background.
By having fast shots of things related to gambling gives the audience an idea of what our horror could be about from our teaser trailer. At the start of our teaser trailer we include a news report about teenage gambling so straight away our audience knows what our horror is about.
